July IRL Meeting

E-mail Print PDF

The next IRL meeting is almost upon us. We are just one week away. Next Saturday, July 17th from 2:30 to 4:30 at the Eagle Creek Library in Lexington is the place to be.

This month we will be discussing MySQL. Rob (crosscut) has lined up a fantastic speaker for this month. His name is Eddie Pauley and he is a certified MySQL DBA. This will help us lay a good firm foundation for further database discussions as well as our planned LAMP talks.

We have also invited the LEXMUG (http://lexmug.com/J10/index.php) group. Lets make them feel welcome. I am sure that our groups can learn a lot from each other.

May IRL Meeting

E-mail Print PDF

We will be having our normal real life meeting on Saturday May 22nd from 2:00PM - 5:00PM at the Eagle Creek branch of the Lexington Public Library.

FURTHER UPDATE: After some discussion, we decided that May's meeting should be an Ubuntu / Fedora release party! Since Ubuntu just released version 10.04 a few weeks ago, and Fedora is releasing their new version on the 25th, we'll talk about the features of the new versions, give demonstrations, and help out with installs if you need it. Come hang out!

UPDATE: Our presenter fell through, so we're in the process of securing a new presenter / topics for this month's meeting. Sorry for the inconvenience. The meeting is still on, and we will update you via email of any further updates.

Topics for this month include:

  1. DNS
  2. Django

If there is enough time we are planning on trying to work out a presentation schedule for the next 3 - 4 months. We hope to see you there and make sure to bring a friend.
