No Day Meeting for May!

We will not be having a daytime, in real life, meeting this month.

As of right now, we're unsure as to whether these meetings can or will continue in the future. Member's schedules and a lack of willing presenters are the main reasons behind this. So if you value these meetings, speak up! Go to the forums and participate in the suggestions forum. Give us reason to start these meetings again.

If there is desire enough and we have willing presenters, starting these meetings back should not be a problem, but it's your hands - the membership of BGLUG.

I'm new to this group and I'm afraid I need presenters more than I can be one. I'm the netadmin at one of the local primary schools in lex and we deployed a linux server base (windows desktops) a couple of years ago to cut costs. I feel a bit like a lone wolk in the primary ed community and was wondering if that really is the case. Day time meetings aren't really possible for me but if there was another time, I could be in. We run ldap/samba/postfix/cyrus/squid/squid Guard and the linux install for Follet library system. Things work but there are some sticky spots (like spam, blacklists, capacity, global mail distribution list). I'm also looking at thin client for next fall (first linux desktop) and am going to be using very old servers. Since this is a "show me" situation for administration and linux, I'm trying to get the best performance given the low end infrastructure. Am I in the right place? My apologies if I'm not.

Welcome aboard!

You're in the right place. But you might want to join the forums and start a thread there. =) (It's better suited for discussions.)
